Position Overview

The Extrusion Production Associate plays a vital role in the manufacturing process by stacking and packaging extruded sheets while providing support to the Extrusion Technician and Operator as needed. This position involves engaging in production tasks, operating essential machinery, and utilizing tools effectively. The Extrusion Production Associate is expected to communicate any quality concerns, report equipment malfunctions, and contribute to the overall production of high-quality sheets. This is a full-time, hourly role that operates under the guidance of the Extrusion Technician, with final oversight from the Shift Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, or stack materials or extruded sheets.
  • Collect and manage edge trim as necessary.
  • Assist in the start-up of production lines.
  • Support the Extrusion Technician and Operator as required.
  • Ensure packaging adheres to product specifications.
  • Maintain organized packing of sheets, clear packaging labels, and accurate records.
  • Confirm that sheets are correctly labeled regarding thickness, size, and color.
  • Monitor the appearance of sheets to ensure the highest quality, including visual inspections, masking applications, saw cuts, dimensions, stacking, and packaging appearance.
  • Identify defective products during the extrusion process and follow quality control procedures for non-conforming sheets.
  • Conduct all quality inspections with precision.
  • Foster effective working relationships with all team members.
  • Keep a clean and organized workspace at all times.
  • Utilize all required safety equipment and adhere to safety protocols consistently.

Education and Training Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of plastics and extrusion processes is advantageous.
  • Ability to use and interpret calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and velocity gauges.
