Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer
WOOD Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a seasoned professional to enhance our cybersecurity initiatives through the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge security solutions.
Security Clearance Requirements
All applicants must be U.S. Citizens and hold an Active Secret clearance, with the capability to secure TS/SCI clearance. Candidates must also be eligible for DHS suitability prior to commencing employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing security frameworks for both manual and automated systems.
- Monitoring and safeguarding mission-critical data against unauthorized access, accidental loss, or malicious alterations.
- Utilizing analytical and logical reasoning to enhance the architecture, development, evaluation, testing, and integration of computer systems and networks.
- Architecting and deploying Cybersecurity tools within a hybrid infrastructure.
- Overseeing technology roadmaps for each product, and preparing reports and briefs to recommend actions based on industry best practices.
- Facilitating system accreditation processes (ATP, ATO) by producing Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Systems Engineering.
- Two years of relevant work experience may substitute for each year of formal education.
Essential Skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Minimum of 6 years of pertinent experience.
- Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems in a production setting.
- Familiarity with Federated Identity, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and authentication & authorization mechanisms.
- Proficient understanding of secure cloud configurations (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups), and Identity Access Management (IAM).
- Practical experience with security and host-based protection solutions, including Trellix, CrowdStrike, and Tanium, encompassing administration, architecture, and engineering of host-based security measures.
- Experience working within a fast-paced Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment, with knowledge of JIRA, JIRA Align, and Confluence.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, bash/ksh/sh, or Python.
- Familiarity with network protection devices, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), log analysis, and malware analysis.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, innovative problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of tools such as CyberArk, ForeScout CounterAct, CrowdStrike, Tenable Nessus, Splunk, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and certificate management.
- Understanding of DoDAF and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
