Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Cleveland Clinic. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories and perform complete physical examinations to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to provide primary and/or specialty medical care in a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care, as well as assist in the management of more complex illness and injury.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority through applicable state Board of Nursing/Medicine and CCF policy.
  • Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with nursing, medical, and other healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists as appropriate for consultation or for specialized health resources and treatment.
  • Ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patient and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team or with other specialty areas as necessary.
Requirements
  • APRN: MSN or higher graduate degree in nursing required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
  • PA: Graduate of an A.R.C.-approved Physician Assistant Program and Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • National certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing, current licensure by applicable state Board of Nursing, and Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA (or successor) and Licensed by the State Medical Board of Florida as a PA-C required.
