Melt Operator

At Novelis Greensboro Manufacturing Facility, we are seeking a skilled Melt Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our melt furnaces.

• Participate in our safety program to ensure a safe working environment
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
• Perform material handling activities, including operating a fork truck and bobcat
• Sample, alloy, and skim materials to ensure quality
• Transfer molten metal to holders according to production targets
• Manage weigh belt speeds to optimize throughput
• Manage dross to reduce waste and meet shipping requirements
• Perform equipment inspections to ensure proper condition
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in industry or with heavy equipment operation preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
