Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipping Packer to join our team at PrimeTech International, Inc. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for preparing finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers. Your specific duties will depend on the type, size, and number of units to be packed, as well as the type of container employed and method of shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Place items in shipping containers, selecting the appropriate type and size of container based on the items being packed.
  • Insert enclosures in containers, using excelsior or other materials to prevent breakage or damage.
  • Closing and sealing containers, and applying labels or entering identifying data on containers.
  • Verify the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records.
  • Ensure stock material is accurate and stored properly, and that material is properly packed and preserved for issue.
  • Pick and pack customer requisitions/orders as generated by the warehouse management system.
  • Prepare and complete outbound process of requisitions/transshipments for transportation, including physical conformance of packaging, quantity, correct NSN, and proper staging Transportation / Shipping work areas.

Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively read and write in English, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively.
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, site management, and CGA regarding operations and policies at the Distribution Center.
  • Must have IATA, IMDG, MILAIR, and 49CFR packaging certification to package HAZMAT.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • The employee may be required to frequently handle equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort in the loading, unloading, and arranging of equipment/supplies as applicable to position.
