Job Title: Mental Health Therapist II or III

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a qualified Mental Health Therapist II or III to join our team. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality mental health services to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Therapist II or III will be responsible for completing assessments, referrals for psychiatric services, and case management in coordination with other teams or parties involved in treatment. You will also provide individual counseling, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, and treatment plans, as well as lead groups. Additionally, you will assist the Program Manager in program development, policy and procedure development, compliance with WACs and RCWs, and other administrative tasks as directed.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in ensuring agency compliance with WACs, RCWs, and other pertinent laws, regulations, and contracts.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures as directed by the Program Director.
  • Educate staff regarding the process for mental health service referrals and regarding psycho-educational topics as directed by the Program Manager or Director.
  • Maintain documentation of mental health services and follow through in patient charts.
  • Provide diagnostic assessments for each patient during the program, document outcomes, justify diagnoses, and communicate with the primary Chemical Dependency Counselor regarding outcomes and recommendations.
  • Provide individual counseling, in coordination with other system as needed, and provide suicide risk assessment and develop treatment plans to address suicidal ideation or gestures.
  • Use case management as needed to provide follow through and build community support as follow through.
  • Provide other crisis stabilization as needed.
Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must have a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology or social work, which includes coursework in psychological diagnostics. You must also have up to three (3) years of experience in the field for a MH Therapist II and four (4) or more years' experience in the field for a MH Therapist III. Minority Mental Health Therapist as required by WAC. You must hold and maintain an active WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor License (may be pending for up to 60 days if applied for within 7 days of being offered employment) or mental health Associate License (includes Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and Clinical Social Worker). Good oral and written skills are a must.
