University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team as an Oncology Specialist. Located in Miami, Florida, this role will provide comprehensive care to patients with various cancer diagnoses.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced RN with a strong background in oncology nursing. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, as well as a current valid Florida Registered Nurse License and BLS/ACLS certifications. Additionally, they will have completed the Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course and hold an Oncology certification if possible.

Responsibilities

  • To deliver high-quality patient-centered care in a culturally sensitive manner, utilizing evidence-based practices to ensure population-specific patient care.
  • Oversee nurses and allied health staff in their daily practice, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • Perform assessments and reassessments of patients' physical and psychosocial health status, obtaining relevant information for the development of individualized patient plans of care.
  • Provide direct and indirect patient and family care, assessing needs and facilitating education with interdisciplinary team involvement.
  • Monitor patients' progress against their plan of care until discharge from designated patient care areas, coordinating the plan of care with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, caregivers, and community resources, ensuring confidentiality of all medical, financial, and other sensitive materials.

Compensation and Benefits

The University of Miami offers a competitive salary range for this role, estimated at $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include:
