Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified General Surgeon to provide temporary coverage in a healthcare facility. This role is ideal for professionals looking to engage in locum tenens assignments.

Specialty:

Service Environment:
Inpatient Care

Coverage Details:
This position involves call coverage, with a schedule that includes 24-hour availability. The call response time is expected to be within 20 minutes.

Patient Population:
The role will involve treating both adult and pediatric patients.

Procedural Expectations:
The surgeon will be responsible for a variety of common surgical procedures, including but not limited to:
  • Hernia repairs
  • Cholecystectomies
  • Breast surgeries (including excisions)
  • Abscess drainage
  • Endoscopic procedures (EGD and colonoscopy)
  • Appendectomies
  • Small bowel and colon surgeries

Technology Utilized:
The facility uses MediTech for electronic medical records.

Benefits:

Qualifications:
  • Active North Carolina Medical License
  • Board Certification in General Surgery
  • Current certifications in ABLS, BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS
  • DEA Registration
  • Clean professional record is highly preferred
  • Must be credentialed with Medicare & Medicaid and enrolled with PECOS
