Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Main Campus. As a critical care specialist, you will provide evidence-based clinical care to critically ill patients, utilizing your expertise in respiratory therapy to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

With a focus on clinical excellence, you will evaluate, treat, and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, including asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD, and lung cancer. Your ability to assess patients and develop effective treatment plans will be crucial in ensuring the best possible care for our patients.

As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with other caregivers to provide comprehensive care to our patients. Your strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively will be essential in ensuring seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies
  • Directing respiratory caregivers for delivery of care
  • Implementing and monitoring patient care plans
  • Assessing patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and developing, implementing, and monitoring patient care plans
  • Monitoring, recording, and communicating patients' conditions
  • Performing advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluating respiratory practice, administering medications and treatments, and performing blood gas puncture and analysis
  • Educating patients and families about the illness and providing information about community support groups and other programs

Requirements for this role include:

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in critical care
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification
