Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool team in a dynamic nursing role.

Job Summary

As a RN Float, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, coordinating with our nursing team to ensure seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Plan Patient Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients, develop personalized care plans, and evaluate responses to health issues.
  • Coordinate Patient Care: Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure efficient and effective patient care, delegating interventions as needed.
  • Provide Emotional and Physical Support: Create a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff, addressing emotional and physical pain to aid healing.
  • Embrace Diversity and Inclusion: Incorporate unique perspectives and requirements of patients into care plans, promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion.
  • Continuously Educate and Evaluate: Educate patients, families, staff, and community on health and wellness, evaluating learning progress and implementing care plans.
  • Work Collaboratively: Collaborate with the team and community to implement care plans, delegate tasks as needed, and solve problems efficiently.
Requirements
  • Nursing Knowledge and Skills: Possess a thorough understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures, including relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Effective Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to make informed decisions and address complex patient care issues.
  • Computer Skills: Possess good general computer skills to effectively utilize electronic health records and other healthcare technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Float Pool Experience: Previous experience in a float pool or similar nursing role is highly desirable.
  • Acute Care Experience: At least 2 years of experience in an acute care setting with inpatient experience in a hospital setting.
