Clinical Observation Experience for Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy Students
4 weeks ago
At Creative Speech Solutions, we offer a unique clinical observation experience for students interested in speech-language pathology and occupational therapy.
This opportunity allows students to shadow licensed therapists and gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
Our observation experience is designed to help students fulfill service/observation hours and gain exposure to these disciplines.
We believe that observations can provide an understanding of the skill set required for clinical practice, including interpersonal communication, writing skills, professional conduct, behavior management, and evidence-based practice aspects of speech-language pathology or occupational therapy.
Please note that we are able to accept student observation requests, but acceptances will be based on a case-by-case basis.
Observation times are available Monday through Thursday from 3pm - 7pm ONLY.
We provide a maximum of up to 10 observation hours per student (with the exception of graduate students).
Not all observations will be in person. If a patient is not able to be observed in person for any reason, you will be asked to view the session via a monitor from another room.
Our therapists will be contacted by our front office to coordinate a student's request to determine if the request can be accommodated.
If we are able, you will receive an email connecting you with a therapist(s).
The possibility of an observation is contingent on approval from patients and availability of our therapists. Not all observation requests are guaranteed.
If the above observation schedule or observations via monitor are not possible for you, we wish you luck in your search and apologize that we cannot accommodate you at this time.
