Job Purpose:

The Sales Associate plays a crucial role in delivering prompt and courteous service by proactively engaging with customers to understand their needs and offer assistance. This position is responsible for maintaining an organized and inviting sales area, ensuring it is always ready for customers. Additionally, the Sales Associate will handle deliveries and perform testing and installation of automotive batteries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional and friendly service to all customers.
  • Proactively engage with customers to assess their needs.
  • Greet customers warmly, maintaining eye contact and a friendly demeanor.
  • Utilize open-ended questions to uncover customer requirements.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of product offerings.
  • Inform customers about membership advantages, promotions, and sales while addressing inquiries regarding products.
  • Effectively communicate the features and benefits of merchandise.
  • Drive sales by presenting various options and suggesting complementary products.
  • Set and meet personal sales objectives.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and organizing stock.
  • Ensure the store remains well-stocked, tidy, and accessible.
  • Handle financial transactions accurately.
  • Test and install automotive batteries, including those for cars and trucks.
  • May utilize a company vehicle for local deliveries.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Prior experience in retail is preferred.
  • Experience in delivery driving is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays and some holidays is required.
Work Environment:
  • This position involves various physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 80 pounds.
  • Work may involve dealing with some irregularities and challenges due to repetitive and varied tasks.
  • The primary setting is a retail store, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, temperature fluctuations, moisture, and battery acid typical of a warehouse environment.
  • There may be stress associated with the demands of the retail environment.
