We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Scribe to join our team at UofL Health. As a Medical Scribe, you will play a critical role in enhancing the direct care of patients by assisting physicians with documentation of patient medical records during appointments.
Key Responsibilities- Transcribe patient examinations in real-time into Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
- Understand clinical workflow and ensure patient medical records are present prior to visits
- Assure timely signing of patient notes and serve as a liaison between medical records and physicians
- Check on the progress of x-rays and other patient data
- Perform other non-clinical duties as assigned
- Type a minimum of 55WPM
- LPN or Medical Assistant certification
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations
- Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details
- Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families
