As a Senior Operations Area Manager at RXO, you will oversee the profit and loss (P&L) for a designated region, managing all facets of operations and ongoing enhancements at your assigned Last Mile Hubs (LMH). You will lead a team of Site Leaders, engage with key client representatives, and be accountable for optimizing operational efficiency while enhancing the overall customer experience. Collaboration with the sales team to foster business growth in your region will also be a key aspect of your role.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Championing operational excellence throughout your area by focusing on quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and financial outcomes. Collaborate closely with operational excellence and leadership teams to ensure a commitment to continuous improvement across all business processes.
  • Managing and achieving budgetary P&L objectives while identifying opportunities to exceed financial performance expectations.
  • Establishing and monitoring performance metrics and KPIs to guide decision-making and proactively manage financial performance. Utilize these metrics to ensure compliance and focus on claims management, quality, safety, security, and employee engagement.
  • Regularly reviewing and auditing site performance to ensure alignment with RXO's standards of quality, service, safety, and security. Implement monthly LMH site audit processes and develop action plans to ensure site conditions meet organizational expectations.
  • Leading a team of site leaders, driving accountability for operational efficiency, customer service, and contractor procurement. Foster the professional development of LMH teams through continuous coaching and collaboration with the Learning & Development team to ensure training remains relevant and up-to-date.
  • Partnering with the national sales team to explore new growth opportunities. Develop a comprehensive understanding of your assigned area, including competitive dynamics and socioeconomic trends.
  • Executing supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations, including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

At a minimum, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in operations, delivery, distribution logistics, or facility/warehouse management.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs, including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • A solid business acumen with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with management teams.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for interpreting and understanding large datasets from various sources.

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach, and influence team members.
