Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care through the performance of diagnostic ultrasound procedures. About the Role

This position requires a graduate of a state accredited school of radiology technology with current or pending registration, or a graduate of a state approved school of professional nursing, or a graduate of an accredited echo/vascular school, or a licensed practical nursing with current or pending registration, or previous on-the-job training with documented experience. Previous experience in cardiovascular diagnostic testing is also preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures as outlined in policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Laboratory, including but not limited to Duplex imaging and/or echocardiography. May be cross-trained into other areas in the department. Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients in the department and provides care to these patients through assessment, observation, and documentation. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. Work is primarily independent.

Education and Experience

Graduate of state accredited school of radiology technology with current or pending registration, or a graduate of state approved school of professional nursing, or a graduate of accredited echo/vascular school, or licensed practical nursing with current or pending registration, or previous on-the-job training with documented experience. Previous experience in cardiovascular diagnostic testing is also preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

RVS/RDCS/RVT/ARDMS or equivalent preferred or eligible to test. Must have obtained approved certification within one year of hire. Current BLS certification is also required.
