We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Division Chief (Branch Manager) at the California Energy Commission.

This position will play a critical role in leading the Investigations and Industry Analysis Branch, overseeing the work of legal professionals, and providing counsel to management and senior leaders within State government.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, advocacy, analytical and writing skills, and knowledge and experience in antitrust, economics, competition policy, regulated utilities, complex investigations, energy regulation in California, and investigating market manipulation and unfair competition practices.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design staffing plans, recruit and hire staff
  • Lead employee supervision, development, and training programs
  • Develop strategy and tactics in complex disputes or litigation
