Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring that the physical facilities, grounds, and equipment are maintained in optimal condition using appropriate tools and techniques.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support skilled trades personnel as necessary.
  • Act as the first responder to maintenance requests via radio.
  • Conduct tasks that require the use of tools, such as changing lamps and responding to temperature control issues.
  • Utilize and operate a man lift safely.
  • Travel to different areas of the property as needed.
  • Assist in executing minor repairs related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and routine maintenance.
  • Provide support to groundskeeping staff as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in utility maintenance is advantageous.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to perform calculations.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in all situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Capability to sit and/or stand for extended periods (minimum of four hours).
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in completing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to navigate throughout the facility, including multiple floors via stairs or escalators.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and/or push at least 40 lbs.
  • Physical ability to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects, and operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Tolerance for environments with secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises, and bright lights.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
