The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist will deliver top-notch, cost-efficient healthcare services. This role also involves engaging in quality assurance, patient satisfaction, and performance enhancement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and physical assessments for all patients. Offer consultations as needed.
  • Visit assigned patients and those referred by colleagues, collaborating with Advanced Practitioners as necessary.
  • Provide effective, high-quality medical care grounded in evidence-based practices.
  • Strive to follow standardized protocols and clinical guidelines approved by the medical team.
  • Exhibit proficiency in patient assessment, treatment options, developmental knowledge, and communication tailored to the patient's age.
  • Maintain timely and appropriate communication with referring physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Engage in patient and family education initiatives.
  • Participate in regular practice group meetings.
  • Keep up-to-date with medical documentation and respond promptly to chart review requests.
  • Submit accurate billing information in a timely manner.
  • Oversee Advanced Practitioners.
  • Attend relevant continuing medical education to uphold licensure in Pennsylvania/New Jersey.
  • Demonstrate the ability to cultivate effective working relationships within the hospital and the St. Luke's University Health Network.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the specialty area.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit for up to 5 hours daily; standing for up to 5 hours daily, with a maximum of 2 hours at a time. Walking for up to 3 hours daily; capable of lifting, carrying, and pushing objects up to 10 lbs consistently, and occasionally up to 75 lbs. Must be able to transport patients weighing up to 250 lbs via wheelchair or stretcher. Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching above shoulder level are required. Must possess the ability to perceive object attributes through touch, hear normal conversations, and see clearly at various distances.

EDUCATION:

Must be a graduate of an accredited medical institution and have completed residency and/or fellowship in the relevant specialty.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Current or recent experience in the specialty area is required.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Must hold an MD or DO license from the state licensure board in the state of practice. Board Certification or Eligibility in the specialty area by the appropriate medical board is mandatory.

OTHER: Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges. Eligibility to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs is required. The provider must meet all qualifications for professional malpractice and liability coverage.
