Job Summary

The Infection Control and Prevention Manager for Student Health Services will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of infection control and prevention in the Student Health Services department. This position will work closely with the Student Health Services team to develop and implement infection control policies and procedures, conduct regular infection control risk assessments, and provide training and education to staff on infection control best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures for Student Health Services.
  2. Conduct regular infection control risk assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  3. Provide training and education to staff on infection control best practices, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment use, and proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
  4. Collaborate with the Student Health Services team to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives related to infection control and prevention.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest infection control guidelines and best practices, and incorporate this knowledge into the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in infection control and prevention, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Certification in infection control and prevention, such as CIC or CPHRM.
