Job Summary

RK&K's Project Controls and Construction Management Division is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in developing construction cost estimates for various projects in different stages of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review construction documents and understand the scope of work to bid
  • Execute take-offs of construction documents
  • Input take-offs into a computer spreadsheet or estimating program
  • Obtain pricing for materials
  • Obtain bids from subcontractors
  • Prepare cost analysis in a computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items
  • Inform the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database
  • Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related technical field
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in heavy civil or highway construction projects
  • Knowledge of a contractor bid software such as Bid2Win or HeavyBid is a plus
