Job Summary

As a Mold Prep Operator at Consolidated Precision Products, you will play a critical role in ensuring the internal shell of molds is free of particles that may cause defects in the casting process. Your attention to detail and ability to inspect molds for integrity, defects, and damage will be essential in maintaining the high quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove shell and recover hardware from the mold
  • Push mold on cart into boiler clave operation
  • Load into firing oven keeping temperatures under 300 degrees
  • Inspect Mold, including boroscope, looking for cracks and defects in internal and external structure
  • Clean Mold using air pressure and water wash
  • Repair Mold as necessary as instructed by Engineering
  • Load Mold into preheat kilns/operation of preheat kilns by manipulator
  • Load Mold into casting furnace per instructions
  • Cut shape of baffle using CNC routing table
  • Change baffle as required
  • Perform routine maintenance on above equipment
  • Enter data into software databases using Word, Excel, Oracle and written logs (quality records)
  • Clean area and equipment
  • Perform 6S Responsibilities
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Manufacturing experience desired
  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift operation
  • Knowledge of equipment
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Safety conscious
  • Sense of urgency
Working Environment

Shop floor

Required PPE: Safety glasses, steel toe shoes
