Job Overview

The Lemoine Company is in search of a proficient Telehandler Operator to aid in our disaster recovery initiatives. The selected individual will be tasked with operating telehandlers to efficiently move, lift, and position materials and equipment during critical response operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that resources are managed effectively and safely, enhancing the overall productivity of recovery efforts.

Note: Positions related to disaster response are dependent on storm occurrences and will be activated only when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate telehandlers to transport and position materials and equipment at the disaster recovery site.
  • Safely load, unload, and relocate materials as instructed by site supervisors and logistics coordinators.
  • Perform pre-operation checks on telehandlers to confirm they are in safe working order and report any maintenance requirements.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the secure operation of equipment at all times.
  • Collaborate with other site personnel to synchronize material handling and guarantee timely resource delivery.
  • Assist in establishing and dismantling staging areas, along with other site-related duties as required.
  • Keep precise records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents occurring during operations.
  • Remain available and prepared to mobilize in response to storms or disasters, ensuring a swift reaction to recovery efforts.
  • Engage in safety briefings and training sessions to remain informed on best practices and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to the overall disaster recovery team by undertaking additional tasks as necessary to ensure successful operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience operating telehandlers or similar heavy machinery, ideally in disaster recovery or construction environments.
  • Valid telehandler operator certification or license.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in demanding conditions, particularly during emergency response scenarios.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the capability to follow instructions and collaborate with other team members.
  • Physical capability to execute the required duties, including lifting, climbing, and operating heavy machinery.
