Leading Psychiatric Medical Director for Westport Campus

We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Psiychiatric Medical Director to join our team at St. Vincents Medical Center in Connecticut.
As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical activities of our Psychiatry division at the Westport campus, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective management of resources. Your expertise and leadership skills will be instrumental in driving excellence in our department and contributing to the success of our organization.
About the Role
This is a full-time position that requires approximately three weeks of clinical time per month, with dedicated administrative support. You will work closely with the Chair of the Department to monitor and improve quality, as well as supervise inpatient and outpatient psychiatrists. Additionally, you will oversee capacity for medication, coordinate moonlighting staff schedules, and provide direct patient care during gaps in coverage. Your responsibilities will also include physician recruitment, interviewing, and committee work.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical activities of Psychiatry division at Westport campus.
- Ensure high-quality patient care and effective management of resources.
- Supervise inpatient and outpatient psychiatrists.
- Oversight of capacity for medication.
- Coordinate moonlighting staff schedules.
- Provide direct patient care during gaps in coverage.
- Recruit, interview, and evaluate physicians.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A medical degree (MD) and board certification in Psychiatry.
- Proven leadership experience in a psychiatric setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
