Lead Hardware in the Loop Engineer

We are seeking an experienced engineer or scientist to lead the design and development of complex hardware in the loop (HWIL) testbeds for weapon systems critical to our nation's defense. If you have a strong background in HWIL systems and a passion for leading a team of engineers, you'll be a great fit for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team of engineers to design, build, and run HWIL testbeds around unique weapon systems
  • Mentor staff on HWIL designs and break up tasks as needed to fit individual staff members' levels
  • Present status and results to project, program, and external sponsors as needed
  • Work with software and hardware designers to understand latency, thread safety, and data communication protocols
  • Document code, setup CI/CD, network systems, and communicate team status and needs
Qualifications
  • Possess a BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar field
  • Have 6+ years of experience working with HWIL testbeds
  • Be skilled in software programming, electrical signals, and embedded systems communication
  • Be capable of leading a team of 2-6 (or more) engineers to design and build out a HWIL testbed
  • Be able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant experience designing and setting up HWIL testbeds
  • Experience designing high-fidelity software simulations for flying platforms
  • Familiarity with weapon systems such as missiles, hypersonics, seekers, and naval platforms
  • Familiarity with one or more of CUDA, FPGA, GIT, compilers, software-defined radio (SDR), RFSoC, networking protocols, object-oriented programming, Python, MatLab, Simulink, and RF systems
