Pharmacy Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Manager to join our team at Western State Hospital. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of all pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and TJC regulations and guidelines.

• Ensure the performance planning and evaluation systems are completed by established deadlines with proper documentation.
• Address performance issues and document them as they occur.
• Provide frequent, constructive feedback to staff, including interim evaluations as appropriate.
• Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, with overall responsibility for compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Direct the drug distribution system for the hospital, providing satisfactory services to the medical staff and nursing department.

• Doctorate in Pharmacy and license to practice as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems.
• Ability to manage and supervise others.
• Ability to problem solve, make independent decisions, and be creative and innovative in high-stress situations.
• Superior knowledge of clinical applications of psychopharmacological principles.
• Superior ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clinical staff.

• Business or management training or experience.
• Bilingual.
