ROLE OVERVIEW
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the flow of products throughout the entire production cycle. This role is essential in providing timely planning and scheduling to the production manager, ensuring that both internal financial objectives and customer delivery timelines are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the delivery of components to facilitate the flow of materials in alignment with the production schedule.
- Assist the purchasing department in expediting supplier purchase orders as necessary.
- Utilize the ERP system effectively to manage production processes.
- Collaborate with warehouse and purchasing teams to address material shortages.
- Inform the Production Manager of any potential schedule impacts affecting customers.
- Coordinate and expedite manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to schedules.
- Prepare status reports detailing production progress, customer updates, and materials inventory.
- Exercise sound judgment and practices to determine appropriate actions.
- Perform additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient knowledge of production and processing, including raw materials, electrical components, quality control, and cost management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Skilled in using computer systems and software applications.
- In-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software is preferred, including P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 5 years of production planning experience in a relevant industry.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Licensure/Certifications: None required.
Experience: 5 to 7 years' experience is preferred.
