Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in ensuring proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. This position performs imaging examinations in multiple settings, contributing to the efficient operation of the department. As the first line interface with customers, this role is responsible for the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the care and maintenance of Diagnostic Radiology equipment and supplies.
• Set up and adjust Diagnostic Radiology equipment per radiologist protocol for exam.
• Operate highly complex radiographic equipment, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. standards.
• Possess extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.
• Receive and review requests for radiologic studies, assess patient condition, and prepare them for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Possess and utilize proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.
• Administer medications under the direction of a physician to render specific organs or systems more opaque.
• Perform various clerical duties and assist with examination of higher complexity.
• Quality control all images, maintain inventory, and adhere to safety regulations.
• Participate in training of department personnel, including students.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Associates Degree Radiology Required.
• Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required.
• Registered Technologist (ARRT) Board Registry Upon Hire Required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association within 90 Days Required.
