Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care
    • Provide direct physical care, emotional support, and educational resources to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
    • Participate in all aspects of patient care, including providing unity structure, promoting safety, and creating a therapeutic milieu.
    • Provide therapeutic interventions, including responding to crisis situations and programming.
  • Observation and Documentation
    • Collect and document data on patient observations and changes in health status.
    • Communicate changes to the registered nurse and report observations of potential violence towards self or others.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Participate in staff meetings and task groups to ensure effective team collaboration.
    • Model professional behavior and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Assist with activities of daily living and recognize escalating behaviors.
    • Participate in the development of treatment plans and interventions.
    • Collect assessment data through interviews, one-on-one interactions, and group observations.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
    • Experience
      • 2-5 years of experience in mental health or substance abuse patient care.
    • Certifications
      • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Allina BLS.
      • Code Green certification within 60 days.
    Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include medium work, with occasional lifting of up to 32 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.
