We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter II to join our team at Carowinds. As a key member of our maintenance and construction team, you will be responsible for performing skilled trade duties in various areas, including cabinet, carpentry, concrete, and asphalt work.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution: Plan and execute repair schedules for park equipment and vehicle maintenance programs, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate heavy equipment, such as backhoes, tractors, forklifts, and JLG lifts, and maintain and repair tools and equipment as needed.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document work performed daily and prepare maintenance documentation and inspection forms as required.
- Worksite Safety and Maintenance: Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas, and properly maintain assigned equipment and tools.
- Carpentry and Cabinetmaking: Work with various materials, including wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall, and utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
- Structural Integrity and Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets code and specifications, and check work along the way to guarantee quality and accuracy.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with guests, peers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent, with 2-4 years of carpentry or general construction experience, including general carpentry and cabinetmaking.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license required.
- Skills and Abilities: Solid knowledge of lumber grades and countertop materials, strong knowledge of power tools, and ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with team members.
