POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Pool Bartender, you will be responsible for taking beverage orders and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with food items, to guests at the pool area, ensuring adherence to the hotel's service standards. You will also manage payment transactions and assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the poolside bar and café.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess thorough knowledge of and comply with all service protocols and departmental policies.
  • Uphold superior service standards consistently throughout each shift.
  • Be familiar with seating arrangements, operational hours, and proper service etiquette of the pool bar and café.
  • Understand the menu offerings, including pricing, preparation methods, and quality standards for presentation and taste.
  • Adhere to state liquor laws, particularly those concerning service to minors and intoxicated individuals.
  • Recognize and cater to VIP guests as designated by the hotel.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of all bar equipment.
  • Execute opening and closing tasks as assigned, including cleaning duties.
  • Take and input guest orders accurately, ensuring timely communication with the kitchen.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide prompt, courteous service at all times.
  • Maintain positive relationships with guests and handle any complaints effectively.
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of service areas.
  • Process guest checks and payments in accordance with hotel policies.
  • Report tips accurately at the end of each shift.
  • Exhibit a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: A minimum of two to three years in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment. Certification in Responsible Beverage Service and a Food Handler Card are preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and effective problem-solving skills. Must work well in a team environment and maintain confidentiality of guest information. Ability to work in various weather conditions and flexible scheduling is required.

Technical Skills: Proficient in understanding guest service needs, maintaining focus during busy periods, and effectively using the P.O.S. system. Physical stamina is necessary for transporting food and beverages and standing for extended periods.
