As the Purchasing Manager at TVS Supply Chain Solutions North America, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency and strategic sourcing initiatives.

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) expenditures, ensuring that agreements are negotiated and managed to maximize value while adhering to established procurement policies. This role requires collaboration with various internal teams to facilitate the launch of new operational sites.

Your responsibilities will include fostering strong supplier relationships, analyzing purchasing and pricing trends to forecast demand accurately, and minimizing procurement costs. Additionally, you will provide support to the Director of Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and articulate the needs for all MRO products and services.
  • Develop and implement a regional procurement strategy for MRO, partnering with functional stakeholders and the procurement team to promote best practices.
  • Assist in resolving contractual disputes while maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on market conditions and merchandise costs.
  • Process purchase orders and requisitions for MRO items and services efficiently.
  • Evaluate and approve conditions for issuing and awarding bids.
  • Address grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers effectively.
  • Represent the company in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Develop annual category plans and budgets, along with monthly spending analysis reports.
  • Conduct communication reviews with leadership, assess suppliers, and understand business needs.
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contract stipulations.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures at all sites.
  • Establish effective procurement practices for major commodities to reduce overall costs.
  • Conduct Supplier Performance Management activities, including Supplier Business Review Meetings and compliance assessments.

Physical Requirements

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid environment, combining on-site and remote work with some flexibility. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and vests are mandatory when in warehouse settings.

Travel Requirements

Travel between operational sites is anticipated.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated purchasing and project leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze and apply strategic frameworks for continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software is essential.
