POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineering Specialist to enhance our team. This role will engage with cutting-edge technologies across both hardware and software domains. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Infrastructure Systems Operations Manager to design, develop, configure, and document both existing and innovative technologies and environments utilized in Systems Engineering. This encompasses various components such as hardware, server operating systems, networking, security, server platforms, and emerging technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate within a dynamic and evolving SaaS datacenter environment

• Collaborate with the Infrastructure Systems Operations Manager on new initiatives driven by business requirements

• Generate documentation essential for the deployment and maintenance of new technologies and systems across the organization’s infrastructure

• Assess system requirements to ensure security and effective integration with current applications

• Oversee the lifecycle of all public and internal SSL certificates, ensuring uninterrupted service for our infrastructure

• Foster an open and effective communication relationship with the Infrastructure Systems Operations Manager

• Partner with the Infrastructure Systems Operations Manager to identify production environment requirements and establish acceptable deployment timelines and roadmaps

• Collaborate with the team to support security and firmware patching initiatives, ensuring deadlines are consistently met

• Work alongside other teams to facilitate successful transitions and knowledge transfer of new technologies

• Evaluate and report to the Infrastructure Systems Operations Manager on areas needing new or enhanced technology solutions

• Alert relevant parties to any issues adversely affecting the organization’s infrastructure

• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with team members and colleagues from other departments

• Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned by Management within the scope of this role

• Assume Technical Lead responsibilities

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in supporting networks and servers within a datacenter setting

• Proficient in Windows Server administration and support

• Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues with minimal supervision

• Familiarity with both virtual and physical server environments

• Capable of independently managing projects

REQUIREMENTS

• Ownership of project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

• Ability to support a VMware vSphere environment

• Solid understanding of Windows and Linux server concepts, with comprehensive knowledge of their implementation

• Experience in network monitoring using tools like PRTG or similar

• Basic understanding of SAN and fiber channel fabric

• Ability to design solutions aligned with overall product direction

• Competence in planning and initiating multi-sprint projects

• Effective communicator across various departments

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others to resolve technical challenges

• Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP networking

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 4 years of relevant experience

• Experience in scripting and automation

• Background in Windows and Linux server administration

• Extensive knowledge of Certificate Management, Patch Management, BCDR, and IT Asset Management

• Strong understanding of backup strategies and methodologies
