Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at CentraCare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient-focused customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all individuals.
  • Coordinate and oversee preventative care services, connecting patients and their families with community resources to promote good health.
  • Assist patients in achieving optimal health by planning care using evidence-based guidelines and gathering relevant information from other sources.
  • Support the day-to-day activities of the clinic, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks, including patient rooming.

Qualifications:

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
  • Ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders, and medication orders to effectively communicate with patients and staff.

Education and Certification:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or medical assisting program.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Minnesota or certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with one of the following organizations:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
    • National Association for Health Professionals, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
    • Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
