Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and quality-driven physician leader to become a part of our expanding team of hospitalists.
Leadership Role:
The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative leadership approach, exemplifying and promoting excellence in clinical practice, patient interactions, and professional conduct.
Team Structure:
The hospitalist team comprises eight daytime physicians, two nocturnists, and two Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The APPs operate on a swing shift to enhance emergency department throughput. Our hospitalists function in teams, adhering to a 7 on / 7 off rotation, with shifts scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM.
Assistant Director Schedule:
The assistant director will follow a 7 on / 7 off day schedule, totaling 182 shifts annually, with responsibilities encompassing both clinical and administrative tasks, alongside dedicated time for administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the medical director in overseeing quality improvement initiatives to ensure adherence to hospital care and safety standards.
- Establishing program objectives.
- Conducting ongoing evaluations of individual providers.
- Orienting and mentoring new hospitalists.
- Collaborating with medical group and hospital leadership to enhance operational efficiencies and manage budgetary costs.
- Facilitating and participating in meetings.
- Assisting in the creation of educational programs for hospitalist providers.
Schedule Coordination:
Managing the hospitalist schedule (via AMION) to optimize program efficiency and productivity while ensuring safe and high-quality patient care.
Grievance Resolution:
Assisting in the reception, investigation, and resolution of patient or physician concerns, care opportunities, complaints, and inquiries related to the hospitalist program.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
- Board Certification / Eligibility through AOA or ABMS.
- A team-oriented mindset with a patient-first approach.
- Exceptional communication abilities.
- Eligibility for an active Florida medical license.
- The capability to work closely with consultants and support personnel.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive base salary guarantee along with a production bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. Opportunities for credentialing at multiple campuses are available, facilitating shift swaps and additional workdays to enhance earnings.
