Oncology Nurse Practitioner

The University of California is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this critical role, you will evaluate patients with various oncological diagnoses and emergencies, implementing treatment regimens and coordinating care.
About the Role:
This position requires a seasoned healthcare professional with expertise in oncology nursing. As an Oncology Nurse Practitioner, you will provide high-quality patient care, promote safe continuity of care, and participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds. You will also make appropriate referrals, provide education and support, and utilize your advanced knowledge of medical concepts to inform treatment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate patients with various oncological diagnoses and emergencies, utilizing your expertise to develop comprehensive treatment plans
• Implement treatment regimens based on signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, and general behavior and physical condition, ensuring timely and effective care
• Provide patient and family education, promoting safe continuity of care and empowering individuals to manage their health
• Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Make appropriate referrals, providing education and support to ensure seamless care transitions
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A current CA RN and CA NP License, as well as MSN/DNP in NP Specialty (Adult Acute Care NP Specialty preferred)
• National Certification in NP Specialty, along with BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• 5+ years of experience as an oncology certified nurse, with ability to utilize Excel, Word, and other software programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and set goals to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Salary Information:
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
