Job Summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join the Capacity and Efficiency team of AWS S3 Glacier. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for providing financial analyses to support decisions related to capacity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Service P&Ls and influence business decisions that drive revenue and/or capital expenditures
  • Drive financial analyses; build complex financial models and analytical tools to support review of Glacier's storage efficiency, costs, and capacity
  • Develop short and long-range financial/operational forecasts of Glacier's storage footprint
  • Develop, track, and report relevant KPIs to provide financial and operational insights into the cost and economics of the business, and influence business decisions using data and communication skills
  • Support cost optimization projects by diving deep into financial systems and working with Technical Program Managers, and Engineers to understand Glacier's costs, key drivers, and effects of technology transitions
  • Identify and quantify financial/operational Risks and Opportunities (R&O) to the business
  • Drive ad hoc financial analyses and projects

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
