Nurse - Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit

Eskenazi Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and coordination skills to every patient served in the unit using the Eskenazi Health model of care, Synergy.
Responsibilities- Effectively utilize the nursing process to perform all nursing functions in an efficient timely manner, in accordance with policies, procedures, Indiana State Practice Act, and Eskenazi Health Model of Care-the Synergy Model.
- Utilizes and documents the nursing process thru appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, & evaluation of patient care as evidenced by client/staff observation; care acknowledges physiological, psychological, spiritual, diversity & cultural needs.
- Engages patients & loved ones with appropriate health information and education in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, calm, and professional manner.
- Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate assistance and educational offerings.
- Demonstrates understanding of and participates in shared governance at the unit and hospital and organization-wide level.
- Demonstrate understanding of customer service concepts and apply to practice.
- Provides personal and individualized patient care to ensure comfort and wellbeing.
- Utilizes effective and efficient interdisciplinary communication.
- Maintains safe patient care and & advocates for patient safety.
- Participates in clinical and operational performance improvement using evidence-based practice.
- Collaborates with leadership regarding staffing to help ensure adequate & appropriate staffing reflective of census & patient care needs.
- Maintains a positive & calming presence to ensure a positive working relationship and environment for all.
- Associates Degree in Nursing from accredited college/university required, Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university preferred.
- Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse or eligibility for license.
- BLS certification required (Can be obtained during onboarding training).
- ACLS Certification required (Can be obtained during onboarding training).
- NIH Certification required (Can be obtained during onboarding training).
