Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our kitchen team. This role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, with shifts available during the morning and evening.

The Culinary Specialist will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of dishes, including soups, meats, vegetables, breakfast items, and desserts for our guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to State sanitation and health regulations, as well as hotel standards.
  • Evaluate the quality of raw and cooked food items to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of foods, whether for regular service or special events.
  • Execute opening tasks, including:
    • Setting up the workstation with necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
    • Inspecting the cleanliness and functionality of all kitchen tools and equipment.
    • Reviewing the production schedule and inventory levels.
    • Prioritizing tasks for the day.
    • Transporting supplies from storage and organizing them in designated areas.
  • Initiate preparation work for menu items scheduled for the day.
  • Communicate with the Food & Beverage service team regarding unavailable items and the status of menu specials.
  • Ensure proper storage practices in accordance with health department and hotel guidelines.
  • Perform closing tasks, including:
    • Returning all food items to appropriate storage locations.
    • Wrapping, labeling, and dating all items being stored.
    • Organizing and cleaning all storage areas.
    • Cleaning food preparation areas, including reach-ins and walk-ins.
    • Returning all unused and clean utensils and equipment to their designated places.
    • Turning off all equipment not required for the next shift.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform job functions with precision, speed, and attention to detail; prioritize and organize tasks effectively; follow instructions thoroughly; collaborate with team members; and work independently with minimal supervision.
