Job Summary
UVA Health System is seeking a highly skilled Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our reconstructive and aesthetic surgery service, you will play a vital role in providing advanced surgical care under the guidance of a licensed surgeon.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in diverse surgical procedures, with a focus on breast surgery, and manage preoperative and postoperative patient care.
- Conduct follow-up appointments in the clinic and facilitate patient communication within the practice.
- Develop long-term relationships with cancer patients and support them throughout their treatment journey.
Operating Room and Office Responsibilities
- Support the surgeon during operative procedures and conduct patient assessments to prepare them for surgery.
- Monitor patients' recovery in the postoperative phase and collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals.
Our Team
Our multidisciplinary team consists of a Plastic Surgeon, a Colorectal Surgeon, and a Surgical Oncologist. This full-time position offers a Monday-Friday schedule from 8am-5pm with minimal call duties and an average daily census of 10-15 patients.
