Welder/Fabricator

IMI Industrial Services Group is a leading industrial contractor offering a range of services, including structural fabrication, surface preparation, and installation. We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team in Athens, GA.

Key Responsibilities

• Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
• Operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches and hand tools.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines, face blocks, jigs, and fixtures.
• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.

Requirements

• 1-3 years' experience in structural fabrication and welding.
• NCCER certification or completion of a related program through an accredited technical school.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
