Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Oncology Physician Assistant to join our team at Integrity Healthcare. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our hematology/oncology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to physician effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
  • Provide information and commentary to the care team that is pertinent to clinical deliberations.
  • Recommend options and courses of action.
  • Implement physician directives.
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
  • Instruct and counsel patients by describing treatment regimens.
  • Order diagnostic tests, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
  • Prescribe and refill medications and oncology treatments.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Rounds on patients in the hospital.
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies as trained and declared competent.
  • Manage chemotherapy and immune therapy toxicities.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Participate in advanced care planning.
  • General management of primary care issues related to hematology/oncology.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience.
  • National certification as ANP, FNP, GNP or PA-C.
  • Current DEA license.
  • Strong technical/computer skills and EMR experience.
