Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Injection Molding Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Initiate and troubleshoot injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
2. Ensure a continuous supply of colorant and materials to the machines.
3. Maintain foil supply on hot stamping equipment.
4. Provide breaks for colleagues within the department as necessary.
5. Adjust and/or repair minor issues on auxiliary equipment and machines, troubleshooting equipment and recommending appropriate solutions to Maintenance personnel and the Shift Supervisor.
6. Communicate effectively with incoming and outgoing Mold Technicians to exchange specific instructions and quality information.
7. Support and investigate situations leading to line/equipment stoppages due to perceived safety risks.
8. Complete responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
9. Collaborate with all department staff to inform the Shift Supervisor of any quality issues or conditions.
10. Coordinate with Quality and Maintenance personnel regarding machine operations and any malfunctions.
11. Collect and verify the accuracy of daily production reports and perform data entry as required.
12. Understand the duties and responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor and perform some responsibilities when necessary for coverage.
Maintain a safe and organized work area, reporting safety issues directly to the Shift Supervisor and/or logging them in the company safety tracking program.
Production demands may vary, requiring a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed, with efforts made to provide adequate notice when scheduling work hours.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; a 2-4 year college or technical degree is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with injection molding machinery and processes is preferred.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in various computer software, preferably Microsoft products.
- Excellent communication, investigation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Six Sigma training is preferred.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform necessary job functions involving bending and reaching.
- Previous experience operating a forklift, overhead crane, scissor lift, and pallet jack is advantageous.
