About Us:

Freeman Mathis & Gary is a prominent national litigation firm with a robust team of over 350 attorneys across thirty-seven offices in twenty-one states. We are currently seeking a skilled Associate Attorney with a focus on Professional Liability to enhance our Miami, Florida office.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing disputes related to Errors and Omissions (E&O), Directors and Officers (D&O), Legal Professional Liability (LPL), and various other professional liability claims. The selected individual will be responsible for maintaining effective communication with clients, ensuring confidentiality, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments and formulate case strategies.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions, draft legal motions, and attend court hearings.
  • Advise clients on legal options and potential outcomes.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation, research, and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must be in good standing and authorized to practice law in Florida.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking abilities and a solid academic foundation.
  • Strong urgency in problem-solving, meeting deadlines, and achieving objectives.
  • Proactive, attentive, and knowledgeable in the field.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented with a proven track record of meeting billable hour targets.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and effective in managing tasks.
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook; familiarity with iManage and/or OneDrive is a plus.
