The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Corewell Health is equipped with four procedural rooms and sixteen pre- and post-procedure bays. As a key referral center for nearby communities, we cater to both elective and urgent patients with cardiac and vascular ailments.
Utilizing cutting-edge technology and supplies, our lab conducts diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures, with a particular focus on high-risk angioplasty employing heart support devices. We also specialize in chronic total occlusions and structural heart procedures, including in-lab TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement). Additionally, the lab performs various pacemaker implants, generator replacements, loop recorder insertions, transesophageal echocardiograms, and cardioversion procedures.

Role ResponsibilitiesThe Cath Lab Nurse, adhering to the ANA scope of practice, employs the nursing process framework to deliver professional nursing care, integrating patient-family centered care principles. This role involves:
- Providing high-quality patient care under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, in accordance with Corewell Health policies and procedures.
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment to demonstrate specialized care throughout the cath lab care continuum (Pre/Intra/Post Lab).
- Utilizing critical thinking and exceptional communication skills to enhance patient outcomes.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Associate's degree in Nursing (required).
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (required within five years).
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 90 days).
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within six months).
- Minimum of one year of acute care experience (required).
- Critical Care, Cath Lab, or Procedural/OR experience (preferred).
