Highway Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Project Engineer to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson. As a key member of our Highways Team, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing plans, estimates, and specifications for highway projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop construction documents, including highway and site design, geometric calculations, and utility coordination.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, and other topographical data to plan projects.
  • Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines.
  • Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals.
  • Prepare proposals and attend meetings with clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • 5-10 years of experience in highway design and engineering.
  • Proficient in Bentley MicroStation, InRoads, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
