Position: Infection Preventionist - Registered Nurse (RN)
About Us: Ozanam Hall Nursing Home of Queens is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care. Since our establishment in 1971, we have been committed to serving our community with compassion and excellence.
Role Summary: We are seeking a qualified Infection Preventionist - RN to enhance our infection control initiatives.
** Salary Range: $110,000 to $115,000 Annually **
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Current CPR certification.
- Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology or completion of the CDC's Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Course.
- At least one year of supervisory or management experience in a Long-Term Care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and assess the infection prevention program at Ozanam Hall.
- Create an annual surveillance strategy tailored to the demographics served and services offered.
- Apply epidemiological methods for effective surveillance and investigation.
- Formulate, interpret, and assist in the application of infection prevention and control policies.
- Disseminate infection control information and data to various committees and healthcare personnel.
- Prepare and present periodic reports and recommendations to the Director of Nursing.
- Provide leadership and educational support regarding infection prevention for staff members.
- Conduct regular facility rounds to ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols.
- Participate in resident assessments related to infection control measures.
- Deliver direct nursing care as required, in accordance with the scope of licensure.
