Cook II Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cook II is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing and cooking intermediate food orders with precision and attention to detail. This role requires a strong understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook intermediate food orders, including meat, fish, poultry, and related items, according to prescribed menus or recipes.
  • Ensure that food is presented in an appealing and appetizing manner.
  • Work effectively with various kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, fryers, and more.
  • Complete tasks in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner, with a focus on minimizing waste and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Provide basic training to junior team members and assist with menu planning and recipe development.
  • Stay up-to-date with food safety and sanitation procedures, including temperature checks and proper food handling practices.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of restaurant production/cooking experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary arts degree preferred.
  • Food Handler's Card must be obtained before commencing duties.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
