Surgical Nurse

Froedtert South is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical team at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital.
Job Summary:We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our Surgical department. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering medical and nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Responsibilities:- Coordinates and administers medical and nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
- Complies with all established standards and practices.
- Demonstrates competency with specific clinical skills and techniques.
- Functions within the Wisconsin Nurse Practices Act and the System's nursing policy.
- Coordinates and administers medical and nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process as a framework for practice.
- Demonstrates communication and leadership skills by collaborating with and giving direction to members of the health care team.
- Maintains and organizes patient rooms and department work areas in a neat, clean and well-supplied manner.
- Organizes and completes nursing care activities and charting within the assigned shift and in a professional manner.
- Promptly and courteously responds to pages and requests for help.
- Recognizes the occurrence of life-threatening situations and emergencies and takes the appropriate actions in a timely manner.
- Associate Degree: Nursing
- Minimum 3-5 years Surgical Nurse experience.
- Experience/background with cardiac patients.
- Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse in the State of Wisconsin and/or the State of Illinois based on job location assignment.
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
