We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Caltrans Equipment Operator II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, construction machinery, and vehicles to maintain the state highway system.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, graders, and dump trucks, to perform maintenance and construction tasks.
- Drive commercial vehicles, including semi-trucks and tanker trucks, to transport equipment and materials.
- Perform labor-intensive work, including manual labor and physical tasks, to maintain the highway system.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergency situations and adapting to changing weather conditions.
- Collaborate with other crew members to achieve project goals and ensure safe working conditions.
- Valid California Driver's License (CDL) with a Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement.
- Pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
