Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development:
    • Create and optimize mechanical systems, machinery, and components for industrial applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models using CAD software to facilitate effective communication with cross-functional teams.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new designs to minimize potential risks and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, applying principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
    • Oversee the implementation of new technologies to streamline operations, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide technical support to maintenance teams for machinery and system troubleshooting, ensuring prompt resolution of issues to minimize downtime.
    • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs to prevent equipment failures and extend the lifespan of machinery and systems.
    • Investigate and resolve equipment failures, recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with production, quality assurance, and safety teams to ensure alignment of engineering objectives and promote a culture of safety.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of materials and components, ensuring timely delivery and quality consistency.
    • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating complex information to diverse audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred but not required, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Proven experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing environments, with a track record of successfully designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools, with experience in creating detailed technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and production processes, with a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies, with experience in analyzing and improving existing manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
